The Diagonal Experience

This site’s about much more than just Gaudí, the Sagrada Familia and the Ramblas. There are plenty of other blogs and sites that cover Barcelona’s standard tourist attractions. This is intended as a guide to life in the city the way the Barcelonese live it: where to eat and shop, enjoy those small luxuries, or find the less well-known distinctive designs and modernist architecture that Barcelona is famed for – away from the tourist traps and the Barcelona ‘theme park’ image that has developed from the rush for the tourist dollar.

MyDiagonal will help you experience and explore the quarters of the Eixample and Gràcia around the Diagonal, the city’s main avenue, and its residential streets with shops, restaurants and cafés to suit every taste and budget in a relaxed atmosphere and within a short distance of the city centre.

You’ll even discover some quaint little streets that even the Barcelonese don’t always know and, where I do stray into the tourist traps, I´ll be telling you about the more unusual experiences and details you won’t find in the standard guides.

If you want to make your experience of Barcelona complete, come and explore the real city with MyDiagonal.

Enjoy your exploration of my Diagonal! There’ll always be plenty to come back for.

  1. Thanks for liking my post…I wish I had come across your blog before we went to Barcelona. We stayed on Career d’Arago…just s few blocks from Diagonal. Cool area!
