Michelin-starred chef Oriol Rovira is the brains behind Sagàs. Sagàs is a modest-looking joint on the corner of Pla de Palau, an historic square between the city centre and the sea. Stylish black-and-white vintage images of Rovira’s farming family decorate the walls, while their fresh food fills the larder. Bread is freshly baked, fillings are locally and globally inspired, and the menu changes four times a year. Sandwiches not to miss are porchetta with juices from the roast, tasty smoked sardines, and the house special of streaky bacon, capers, figs, arugula, fresh cheese and olive paste is a messy masterpiece.
